Newcastle old boy David Kelly is on the shortlist for the vacant manager's job at Preston . . . along with ex-Toon boss Graeme Souness.
Former United striker Kelly, who scored against Portsmouth in 1992 with what was once described as the "most important Newcastle goal EVER!", was departed boss Billy Davies' No 2 at Deepdale and is hoping for a promotion.
According to reports from Preston, Souness is asking for money well beyond what the club can finance.
