I know the London media have concocted a story that Newcastle are hoping to sign Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford in the summer ... but without giving a source nor quote.
They claim: "Dennis Wise has contacts at Leeds, with him being an ex-manager, and he has told Kevin Keegan about the 24-year old".
According to our guy at St James' Park, Newcastle have not checked him out.
Hardly prolific, I think Keegan will have bigger fish to fry in the summer months.
