The Chronicle revealed today they already have close to £20m in pledges even before going public.
A Football Trust will be launched at Newcastle Civic Centre on Wednesday.
The Trust and the campaign, called Yes We Can, has the backing of some big city and financial hitters.
Evening Chronicle: Yorkshire-based financial group SIPP Brokers, who have offices in York and Halifax, are instrumental in the fundraising and have already received pledges worth £11.85m.
The trust has already struck deals for 483 pledges at £20,000.
United’s supporters club have an additional 202 members committed to signing up, which pushes the overall cash figure to close on £20m.
Some of the contributions have come from personal pension funds which are topped by £5,000 in tax relief from the Government.
