Today Alan Pardew is weighing up his options for Thursday's Europa League tie in Belgium after picking up three fresh injuries against Liverpool.
But you can never believe who is REALLY injured, as the Toon boss continues to go with a reserve side ... or at least 90% of one.
There are the genuine candidates of course - James Perch could be out for the rest of the month, while Yohan Cabaye and Demba Ba are likely to miss the trip to Brugge after "niggles" at Anfield.
Cabaye is also classed as "doubtful" for the encounter with West Ham United, but the striker is in line to take on his old club on Sunday.
Pardew: "It has been a costly game. So not a good day.
"Perch is probably the most serious. Demba is OK. He will be all right for West Ham.
"Perch has done his thigh and Cabaye has done his hamstring.
"It doesn't look like a bad hamstring though so we'll have to wait and see."
