Kinnear knows that he faces trial by television as United's next SIX games are being beamed out live, starting with today's visit to Goodison Park to take on Everton.
Joe Kinnear: "That's the effect I have on football!
"I knew as soon as I got the job that all the games would go on television. It's amazing, isn't it?
"All six are live football matches, one after another.
"I think I've had more publicity than the President of America in the last week.
"It's probably the first time I've been on every national newspaper front page and television channel around the world, which is amazing really.
"My God, Newcastle's a massive place, isn't it?
"I'll be honest, that's one of the reasons I came to Newcastle. It works both ways. I'd love to stay and spend the rest of my life here.
"What I need to do is make an impact while I'm here, and then, who knows where it will lead? I've got no idea.
"Football's a very fickle business. It changes from day to day, week to week. Who knows what's around the corner?
"Hopefully, I'll do a really good job here and put myself in the frame to be here permanently.
"If it's not to be, and the new owners, whoever they will be, decide they want someone else, then I hope it'll give me an opportunity elsewhere.
"One thing it will prove is that I'm back in the business. Since I had my second mild heart attack, it's been very difficult to get myself back in the picture.
"It's all behind me, and I feel in good shape. Now, I'm just looking forward.
"I always look at the other side of it. If I'm not successful, where would it lead to? If I'm successful, I know where it would lead to.
"I don't know about a no-lose situation.
"I want to be successful because even if I'm not the man who will be here with the new consortium, I can carry whatever I do here to my next job, and that might have a big influence on me getting another big job. That's my way of thinking.
"I'm not going to lose the opportunity for that reason."
