Nick Pope has won the Castrol Save of the Month award for January after producing a wonderful reaction save in Newcastle United's 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace.
The English goalkeeper has been in exceptional form during the 2022/23 season, conceding a league-low 11 goals so far as the Magpies have ascended up to third in the Premier League table.
As well as being fantastic in the league, Pope's performance have also been similarly fantastic in cup competitions, helping his side reach the Carabao Cup final - the club's first cup final of the 21st century.
Pope's performances have meant that he's now become the first goalkeeper to win the Castrol Save of the Month award on two occasions, thanks to his wonderful save to deny Jean-Philippe Mateta what seemed like a certain goal.
With the scores locked level at 0-0, Mateta turned inside the penalty area and unleashed a venomous shot on goal, only for Pope to quickly reach up to tip it over the crossbar.
Other nominees for the January Castrol Save of the Month included Lukasz Fabianski, Emiliano Martinez, Aaron Ramsdale, Kepa Arrizabalaga and David De Gea.
Pope first won the award back in August, earning it thanks to a brilliant save in a 0-0 draw with Brighton at St. James' Park.
