The Toon drew with Crystal Palace on Saturday, and it was an all too recognisable result that had the fans muttering as they left St James' Park.
How long will it be before the 'Pardew Out' banners return?
Last season couldn't come to an end quick enough for most fans, and since Boxing Day Pardew has won five of 23 Premier League games.

We are only three games into the new season and we are actually four points down on the last campaign (we won at Villa Park and beat Crystal Palace at SJP).
Against Palace it was the same old story for Newcastle who are still missing the quality to finish teams off, and their poor defence leaves the club riding their luck time and time again.
The Toon were on the back foot within seconds of the kick off after Dwight Gayle put Palace into an early lead.
Much has been made of the Toon’s many transfers this summer and the quality of the players brought in, but it’s becoming increasingly clear it’s the man in charge – Alan Pardew – who needs to be shown the exit for the players to fulfill their potential.
Pardew has now won just one match in his last 11 Premier League games.
As Pardew ranted and raved from the dug-out, Hatem Ben Arfa (the one genuine star in the squad) watched on from the stands.
Pardew cannot get the best out of him, and now it is up to Steve Bruce to show him how it is done.
Remy Cabella flattered to deceive once again, but in his defence, it's early days.
It was positive that United managed to find the net and that three players opened their accounts for the club.
And, as we have said many times, is it the players to blame for this horror show of results or the manager?
At the final whistle Pardew continued to blame everyone but himself, when 50,000 Geordies think they know where to point the finger.
