According to a report in the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United are no closer to being taken over by Amanda Staveley, despite the world going crazy and saying she is ready to be our saviour.
There had been suggestions over the weekend that Staveley could return to buy Newcastle, with their Premier League survival now secured.
However, the Shields Gazette claim that Mike Ashley is no closer to leaving St. James’ Park.
Staveley had been interested in buying Newcastle back in December, but could not agree a deal with Ashley.
And despite the Magpies effectively securing their Premier League survival, no deal between the two parties is imminent yet.
Ashley could still look to sell Newcastle in the summer, though, which is the hope of many Magpies supporters.
Newcastle are now a safe bet for anyone interested in the club because they are 10 points clear of the drop zone, after managing to beat Leicester City 2-1 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.
