The winger has failed to recover from the injury that forced him off at half time against Arsenal and has not travelled to Germany with the squad – although he was a doubtful starter in any case, with the likely midfield line up Laurent Robert, Jermaine Jenas, Gary Speed and Kieron Dyer.Sir Bobby told The Journal: "Nobby is not fit. I have had a long chat with the physios over the weekend and we decided Nobby isn't ready.
"He came off in the Arsenal game with a muscle strain high in his thigh and he has not had sufficient time to recover. It isn't a serious problem, it just needs a little more time."
