What Joey Barton can do ... the former Newcastle midfielder can do better.

Hugo Viana is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after breaking a metatarsal in his right foot in training with his new club Osasuna.

But Barton is out for an estimated six weeks, Hugo is "no-go" for 12 weeks.

The Portugal international only arrived at the Pamplona club on a 12-month loan from La Liga rivals Valencia this month and, according to Osasuna medical chief Patxi Cipriain, is now set to be out for between three and four months.

Robson described Viana as "The Finest Young Player In Europe", to team up with "The Finest Young Player In South America", Diego Gavilan. And neither could hack it in the rough and tumble of the Premiership.

Diego Antonio Gavilan Zarate came from Paraguay and became the first player from his country to play in the Premiership.

Cost £1m from Cerro Porteno but was never been as good as his reputation. Was supposed to be the best youngster in South American football. We've heard that one before.

Moved to Mexico on loan in December 2001, then stayed there in 2003. Played in the 2002 World Cup.
