Kevin Nolan: "We were second when the game started, and we're now top, which is where we want to be, albeit we could have been a few more points ahead.
"We've gone through a sticky patch, but the lads have shown character.
"One of the reporters told me Graeme Souness said two defeats is a crisis at Newcastle.
"If we were playing really poorly weren't creating chances, and getting battered every week, we'd all take the criticism.
"But don't have a go at the actual fact that over the 90 minutes we've dominated a game.
"The lads have just been disappointed in the fact that the reaction from people has been a bit wrong. We wanted to put it right with a good performance, and a win.
"We all don't want to get beat and play badly, but sometimes, in a 46-game season, you'll have one of those games.
"I don't feel, over the last few games, we have had one of those games. I just feel we've been playing well enough to win games, it's just we've been caught out with sloppy defending."
