Swansea City 2 Sunderland 2
Tottenham Hotspur 1 Norwich City 1
West Bromwich Albion 2 Everton 0
West Ham United 3 Fulham 0
Wigan Athletic 2 Stoke City 2

Debutant Andy Carroll was in lively form with the Liverpool loanee adding a cutting edge to the Hammers' frontline before appearing to tweak a hamstring in the second half.

Captain Kevin Nolan opened the scoring for the home side inside the opening minute and they were out of sight by the break thanks to further goals from Winston Reid and Matt Taylor.

Dimitar Berbatov came off the bench for Fulham at the break and certainly gave them more of a cutting edge, with Damien Duff and Hugo Rodallega both drawing saves from Jussi Jaaskelainen as a result of his promptings.

Yaya Toure, Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez struck as a dominant but wasteful Manchester City saw off QPR at the Etihad Stadium once again.

Sixteen weeks after the dramatic season finale that saw City crowned Barclays Premier League champions at the same ground, the hosts survived another scare against the side managed by their former boss Mark Hughes to run out 3-1 winners.

Despite creating a multitude of chances, City needed a quick response from Dzeko after Bobby Zamora cancelled out Toure's effort but Tevez made the scoreline more convincing in injury time.

Apart from QPR's recovery after falling behind, the match had little in common with that in May. The visitors were hardly a factor for long spells and only three of their starting line-up were in the team that memorable afternoon.

West Brom continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 victory over Everton at the Hawthorns.

Shane Long opening the scoring after meeting a superb cross from Peter Odemwingie, who had just stepped off the bench.

Gareth McAuley then added the second following poor defending at a corner from Everton to reward the Baggies' dominance.

Norwich left White Hart Lane with a deserved point after Robert Snodgrass struck a second-half equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Tottenham.

Mousa Dembele celebrated his Spurs debut by pouncing in the 69th minute with wonderful skill and a fine finish that showed the £15million signing from Fulham at his creative best.

The first half has been controlled by Norwich with only sharp reflexes from Brad Friedel denying Russell Martin and Snodgrass.

But it came as no surprise when Grant Holt set up Snodgrass to level and Spurs' problems grew when substitute Tom Huddlestone was harshly shown a straight red card for his tackle on Jonny Howson.

New signing Steven Fletcher struck twice but Sunderland were still forced to settle for a 2-2 draw with Swansea at Liberty Stadium.

Fletcher, whose arrival from Wolves cost the Black Cats £12million, opened his account by tucking home an ill-advised back pass from Ashley Williams.

Wayne Routledge equalised for Swansea, but on the stroke of half-time Fletcher stabbed home his second.

Swansea were not finished, however, with Spanish midfielder Michu nodding home his fourth goal of the season.

Michu's fellow Spaniard Chico Flores was then shown a straight red card for a dangerous high tackle on Louis Saha.

Peter Crouch nodded home from close range as Stoke came from behind twice to draw 2-2 with Wigan at DW Stadium.

Shaun Maloney gave Wigan the lead from the spot after James McCarthy's shot struck Robert Huth's outstretched arm.

Stoke responded in kind through Jon Walters after Maynor Figueroa had touched the ball.

Franco di Santo appeared to have fired the winner after combining well with the creative Arouna Kone, only for Crouch to hit the target.
