Fabricio Coloccini claimed ‘everyone is happy now’. Obviously, not everyone.
It’s clear that Cabella, who threw a water bottle in anger after being hauled off for Gabriel Obertan, is not happy with the coaching set up.
It was clear Pardew wasn’t Cabella's biggest fan, but was given a new lease of life under Carver and grabbed the headlines with a stunning opening goal in the 3-0 victory over Hull.
But he was taken off just after the hour whilst the teams were level – despite arguably being the brightest spark in the side – for the returning Gabriel Obertan, one of the players who didn’t take full advantage of gilt edged opportunities.
The Newcastle Chronicle reported Carver as saying: ‘Everybody has to be patient for their chance. If you have to come off and somebody else goes on don’t be disrespectful to your team-mates.
‘The important thing is we are working as a group, not 11 players. It’s a squad of 22 or 23 players. It’s important they know that.’
If Carver is to succeed at the club, he needs to get his team onside.
Next in line for the Magpies is a crunch match at former boss Alan Pardew’s new side Crystal Palace.
