Having formed to go on the rampage and string Mike Ashley up by his nuts from the Gallowgate End flag pole; then decide they wanted to be friends with him; then decided they weren't that sure what the HELL they wanted to do ... they've now decided ... they want to "re-brand the group in a move that they hope will one day earn them a stake in the Magpies".
Managing director Derek Llambias dismissed the group's importance and slammed their approach when he went public for the first time last month.
Managing director Derek Llambias dismissed the group's importance and slammed their approach when he went public for the first time last month.
The Chronicle: "Llambias came face to face with a handful of NUSC members at a Supporters Panel Meeting but their dialogue descended into little more than a slanging match resulting in calls for proper representation for fans.
"Toon fanzines such as The Mag and True Faith, as well as popular website Nufc.com supported the formation of the group but it has since attracted just over 1,000 members with many Newcastle fans opting not to sign up.
"Now the group will change its status to that of a Supporters Trust."
NUSC tell us: "There are over 140 clubs who have a supporters trust, including Manchester United, Millwall, Barnsley and AFC Wimbledon."
Which impressed us no end. Barnsley? Well knock me dooon with a feather.
Apparently they have organised a meeting sometime this month (we forget when) at a venue in the Toon (we forget where) sometime between opening time and last orders.
BE THERE!!!
