Now that Newcastle have been linked with a £3m move for West Ham keeper Robert Green - a story made up by The Sun - Lennon is sniffing a bit of business.
He is hoping this will open the door for Fraser Forster to return to Parkhead.
Lennon has had one bid turned down for the keeper but hasn’t given up hope.
Forster joined Celtic on a season long loan a year ago whilst Chris Hughton was in charge of Newcastle.
Celtic have been linked with a number of keepers over the summer but it is believed that Forster has always been Lennon’s first choice.
Ideally Lennon would like a deal to be completed by the Europa League deadline of August 8 with the draw for that competition taking place
