Our Apology To Beardsley And Carr!

The ex-Newcastle midfielder was upset at the tone of the article and the headline ... which in hindsight we agree was unacceptable.

'Pedro' phoned to say he has "never knocked any Newcastle player" past or present, and described United right-back Stephen Carr as: "a lovely lad, a character on the field, and a good friend of mine".

We did not quote Peter Beardsley directly, but we agree the article was misleading and an apology should be given.
