As you all know Dan(Nutter) went into hospital 2 weeks ago today to start his next round of chemo, by the wednesday they had stopped the treatment and diagnosed that he had a pleural effussion, and that his lung had collapsed.

They inserted a chest drain over-night on the wednesday. I saw him on the thursday, and he asked me to post about the fixtures and told me to tell you all that he thought the world of you. I knew then that he was extremely poorly but he was still trying hard to hold on.

By the friday afternoon his wife(Debbie) was told that he had no more than 48 hours left so my mam and Debbie took the kids in to say goodbye, but he had gone to sleep on the Thursday evening and didn't really wake up after that. Dan died at 1.30am on Saturday 9th June with Debbie and my mam with him.

His funeral was last Thursday morning, and was the way he would have wanted it.

He was cremated, but he had his new Toon top on, his Jeans and Trainers, and had a photo of his wife and kids, and the last scan photo of the baby in his back pocket.

He was carried in by our brothers and his friends, to "Local Hero", we had no hymns, but played "One" by U2, "The Scientist" by Coldplay, "Highland Cathedral"(Which is a piped song) and took him out to "Run" by Snow Patrol, before he went to the crem.

Debbie's parents flew over and arrived on the Saturday that Dan died, and she has gone back with them at the weekend for a while, with the kids. She has asked that if anyone who wants to make a donation on Dan's behalf they should give it to Paul's fund, which is what he would have wanted. I just want to say on behalf of all the family thank you for all your prayers and good wishes, they are much appreciated.

I will probably not be on here for a while, as you can imagine I am devestated, and am just struggling to cope at the moment, but I will be back closer to the season starting and will still be meeting up for a pint or two at the Three Bulls with the gang, if anyone fancies meeting up next season.

So raise your glasses to Dan 1974-2007, I'll miss you bro...
