Owen And Shearer? Interesting!

But Shearer has been highly critical of Owen's four years of "nothingness" at St James' Park.
Although Peter Beardsley has told the fans to get off Owen's back, Shearer has said many times: "Owen owes Newcastle United Football Club a hell of a lot!"
It will also be interesting to see what Beardsley says today, after insisting Mike Ashley should keep Joe Kinnear for another three years.
I bet that changes today ... with the arrival of the GOALden Boy.
Mick Quinn: "He's got a great footballing brain as an ex footballer.
"There'll be a honeymoon period to start with, giving the place a lift. He'll be unveiled on Thursday and the response will be magnificent.
"He's a Geordie, they're his club, he turned down Manchester United as a player to move to Newcastle.
"He'll be watching all the games, he'll have watched the players - and importantly this could be a tonic and a boost for Michael Owen as well.
"They were great team-mates for England and got on really well, so Owen might gain an extra yard now Shearer's gone there and score the goals to keep them in the division.
"It hasn't been good enough all round, the management or the way the club's been run - and the players haven't been good enough.
"There were only two people that could have made an impact - Kevin Keegan and Alan Shearer.
"Kevin was never going to happen, but Alan Shearer is there and what a boost that is to everybody with a crucial part of the season to come.
"The players know who he is; he's a world-class striker who's scored goals for England and Newcastle.
"And he's a Geordie so he'll ram that home to the players who probably haven't grasped what that city is all about, especially the players that have only been there this season.
"There's a lot of pride at stake from now on in. He was destined to be Newcastle manager eventually and he's come in at the right time to give the whole place a boost."
