The 26-year-old Owen left the pitch at Birmingham last weekend fearing he had suffered fresh damage to the foot in which he fractured a metatarsal in December.
Roeder: "It's a case of wait and see with Michael. I don't have to make a decision on him today (Wednesday), or even tomorrow. The game is not until Sunday.
"We expect Michael to be able to do a little more with each day and we will have a better idea on Saturday morning.
"As I say, I don't have to make a decision about Michael today. It would be foolhardy to do that.
"The nearer we get to the game, we will have a clearer indication about what Michael's involvement will be.
"He did a little bit of light work on Tuesday and we expect him to increase the tempo as the week goes on.
"I know Michael would like to be able to get out there and play some part, but we'll see how he goes for the rest of the week and come Saturday, we'll be in a position to make a decision about his participation."
