Steve McClaren was at the match checking on the striker, and must have feared the worst when he went off injured, but he will be fit for England's B international against Albania.
Newcastle caretaker-manager Nigel Pearson: "I saw him in the medical room after the game. He was chatting, and there is no problem at all.
"He has mild concussion, but it is nothing too serious and he is fine.
"He is in fantastic nick, and I have no qualms about him at all. He will have a headache tonight, but he will be fine."
