The manager has already got John Terry insisting he will prove to Capello that he is the man to lead England to greatness, having been stripped of the captaincy.
But that is just playing into the manager's hands because he WANTS that from his players.
Striker Michael Owen another who has admitted he is unsure of his role under the new England boss.
Many reports suggested on Wednesday that Capello does not view Owen as a first choice for England.
An unused substitute in Capello's first match in charge against Switzerland last month, Owen was introduced as a half-time substitute in England's 1-0 defeat to France in Saint Denis.
Owen: "I hope the manager knows what I'm about.
"I am sure he has seen me play - he has watched videos.
"I missed a lot of qualifying for Euro 2008 through my cruciate knee ligament injury but when I came back, I played quite well and scored a couple of goals against Russia and one against Israel and Estonia."
