All Ecuador need is a draw and England will face the might of Germany in the next round (if they beat or draw with Sweden), but Michael Owen has admitted he would prefer to meet the hosts in the World Cup final.
Ecuador are indeed the dark horses of the competition, and it could be toss up who would be the tougher between the two. But Owen sees it different, despite scoring a hat-trick in a 5-1 win over the Germans in Munich nearly five years ago.
Owen: "Would you expect Germany to be worried by England? I would hope so. But who knows who we will play in the next round?
"It's a great tournament and a lot of the top teams look like they're going to progress. Germany are obviously a top team. I'd prefer to play Germany in the final."
