Let's face facts ... whenever Owen goes away on international duty with England ... he comes back injured!
So many Newcastle fans were confident his omission from Fabio Capello's World Cup squad could only be good for the Magpies, at least he wouldn't return injured.
Well guess what!
The club are sweating over his fitness for Monday's clash with Manchester City, as the striker has been sent for a scan on an apparent groin problem.

The club are sweating over his fitness for Monday's clash with Manchester City, as the striker has been sent for a scan on an apparent groin problem.
The striker has been working with the rest of the Newcastle squad over the course of the last week after being overlooked for England selection, and he picked up the problem in training.
Joe Kinnear: "He tweaked his groin in training so he is a big doubt.
"It's 50-50 whether he plays for the Man City match. He is having a scan today.
"Then we will find out more, we are just assessing the situation. I am hoping it is not as bad as it looked when he first done it.
"I am hoping it may have calmed down but we are worried that if the scan shows a tear then he could be out for a month.
"Hopefully it won't be but we are in the dark until later on today."
