Dalglish stopped short of criticising Carroll for his "four letter outburst" at being substituted at St James' Park yesterday, but it is plain for all to see, the Geordie boy is NOT having happy times under the former Toon boss.
That beaming smile that used to light up St James' Park in his days wearing black and white - is replaced by a petulant frown that shows he is not enjoying life one little bit carrying the weight of £35m on his shoulders.
He said this week: "I didn't ask for Liverpool to pay £35m" ... but he put in a written transfer request when Mike Ashley originally knocked it back.
Ashley took the stick at the time ... but come on ... this was a player that was offered to Preston North End for £1m 18 months earlier!
He endured a miserable return to Tyneside, receiving a regular chorus of boos from his former fans, getting booked for diving and then having to watch his successor in the number nine shirt, Papiss Cisse, score twice as Newcastle won 2-0 yesterday.
His frustrations were then capped when he was substituted - the Geordie crowd stood as one to let the England international know exactly what they thought of him and his cheating ways.
He heading straight down the tunnel rather than heading to the bench, giving Dalglish a mouth-full on his way.
Kenny Dalglish: "When Andy came off and went up the tunnel, he was disappointed with the way the game was going, not necessarily for himself, but for the team, and the frustration took him up into the dressing room.
"We don't have a problem with people showing their desperation or frustration, but we need to channel it better than we have done.
"The frustration and disappointment resulted in the actions Pepe (Reina) took when he got a deserved red card."
Asked about the way the club had invested the proceeds of Carroll's then-controversial sale, Pardew said: "You don't always get it right, but we managed to get that right.
"We have got some great players here - and actually, some of the players I inherited were the ones who won us the game.
"I felt for Andy, I did.
"He's a terrific lad and he's having a tough year. But he will come back.
"On our side of the coin, Cisse was terrific, and long may that continue."
