Pardew and his backroom team were rewarded with bumper deals earlier this year - but the manager know Mike Ashley's history of sacking managers.
Alan Pardew: “With the stability of my contract behind me and the owner (Mike Ashley) having great faith in me, it does not get away from the fact that the fans want to win games.
“It’s the fans who I answer to – they’ve been brilliant with us even though we haven’t put the entertainment on the pitch which we did last season.
“And don’t think I’m not affected by results because I am – nothing is hurting me more than losing games.
“Money or stability or happiness does not drive me – winning drives me.
“I think there has been pressure on me.
“The spotlight is on others because they’re at bigger clubs.
“I have to look at the bigger picture for this club, but I must not take my eye off the ball with regards the immediate problem which is results.
“Our results and stats don’t look good – we’re having a rough run.
“We find ourselves in this position (in the league) and we’ve got three top clubs in our next four games.
“That’s a challenge me must meet head-on and try to get across the line and come out of it with some points.”
