Pardew has signed Ayoze Perez, Siem de Jong, Jack Colback, Manu Riviere, Remy Cabella, Daryl Janmaat, Facundo Ferreyra (loan), Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow in the biggest summer recruitment drive for years.
Alan Pardew: “No other Barclays Premier League club has brought in more players than us this summer.
"It has therefore been a positive transfer window for Newcastle and we are keen to unlock the potential in this team as quickly possible.
“In all my time at Newcastle this is the best spirit I have felt around the team and that has to bode well for our short and long-term future.
"Our new signings have helped create a positive vibe at the training ground right now.
“That mood (at the training ground) was boosted by another fine performance for the Under-21 side, who turned in an impressive performance to beat Reading on Monday.
“Adam Armstrong scored a hat-trick in that win and he is a player we have high hopes for at this club along with a few more in that development squad who will be given their chance in the first team over the course of this season.”
