The Senegalese international is wanted by Spurs and Turkish clubs Galatasary and Fenerbahce.
Alan Pardew: "Ever since he signed with us we've had the speculation - I don't think it's going to go away.
"We want him to stay, the fans do too, and we hope that will be the case."
The 27-year-old hasn't been happy since his fellow countryman Papiss Cisse joined the club from Frieburg in January, and Pardew put him out wide on the left.
Ba will return to Newcastle but, like last season, will start his month of Ramadan-a-ding-dong just as the new season starts.
Plus, Pardew will see Ba and Cisse head of the the African Nations Cup in January for six weeks, leaving him with a massive striker headache.
Ba carried a lot of baggage, and the Toon boss must weigh up the option.
