Pardew was originally given a seven-match ban for headbutting Hull's David Meyler and was fined £60,000 but swift action from the club and the Magpies boss saved him from a longer stadium ban and a higher penalty.
But after Man City's Joe Hart did the same (at Hull City or all places) and the FA did NOTHING, perhaps they are acting to save face.
The former Saints boss was meant to serve an additional four-match touchline ban following on from his three-match stadium ban which will see him miss ties with Fulham, Crystal Palace and Everton.
The seven-match ban would have been a record suspension for a Premier League manager but Pardew will now return to the touchline for their away game against Southampton on the 29 March.
