But Newcastle United's Alan Pardew's odds have dropped from 10/1 to 9/4, with rumours that club owner Mike Ashley is willing to cut ties with the manager if Newcastle frop into the bottom three.
Victories for Reading and Southampton has seen the odds on their respective managers leaving drift considerably, leaving Alan Pardew as the second favourite to be next to go at 9/4.
But ... with Ashley confident enough to back his manager in the transfer market this coming week (allegedly) ... perhaps the bookies have it wrong.
Next Premier League Manager To Leave
Paul Lambert - Aston Villa 1/2
Alan Pardew - Newcastle United 9/4
Nigel Adkins - Southampton 4/1
Brian McDermott - Reading 5/1
Former Norwich boss Lambert is now 4/9 to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post after back-to-back defeats left their Capital One Cup and Premier League survival hopes looking bleak.
With Bradford favourites to make the final after winning their semi-final first leg 3-1 and Villa now odds-on for relegation as they sit third from bottom, the online bookmaker fear for the future of Lambert.
Trader Chris Spicer said: "A favourable Capital One Cup draw and a decent run of fixtures in the league gave Villa the perfect chance to make up for their wretched first half of the season, but things have gone from bad to worse with two woeful results.
"While we still expect Lambert to be in charge come next weekend's clash with West Brom, failure to turn their fortunes around soon will surely force the Villa Park board to consider his future."
