Alan Pardew (talking to Sky Sports): "I was pleased to see our fans had stayed for the second half because the last 20 minutes of the first half were tough to watch.
"The biggest difference was Cabella, he really gave us some technical ability and produced a really great second half or us.
"That's really good news because we've been waiting for him to come alive a little bit for us.
"It's been a slow burn for Remy but he changed this game for us.
"They are the sort of question marks you throw against eight stone Frenchmen but he played like the front row of a rugby team for us and took the game by the scruff of the neck with his technical ability.
"He's not going to be a dominant force physically in the Premier League, so he has to be a David Silva. He has to get on the ball, run at people, create things.
"And he did that. He was instrumental."
