Palace agreed a fee with Sunderland for the 22-year-old this week, and Wickham was in London on Friday to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.
And Pardew is confident of getting the signing across the line before the start of the season.
He said: ‘Connor is someone we think will be good for the club and we are trying to get that signing across the line.’
Pardew has already signed three players this summer with Yohan Cabaye the most high profile following his £12.8m move from Paris Saint-Germain and the pair link up together after their time at Newcastle.
