On Saturday, Pardew headbutted Hull’s David Meyler during his sides 4-1 win, and his world has changed.
It was outrageous.
If he isn’t shoving match officials, he’s fighting with other managers. If he isn’t caught calling Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini a “f***ing olf C**t”, he’s dancing in front of the opposition in a provocative manner.
After being barged out of the way by a rushing Meyler, he grabbed him and headbutted him.
It wasn’t as violent as it sounds. It was a gentle clash of heads but the intent from Pardew was there. He made the movements. What he did was obvious.
Still though, Mike Ashley won’t get rid of him. The club’s reputation has been stained as like at Newcastle these days is like a soap opera.
This is just the latest in a line of unpleasant headlines coming out of St James' Park. After detailing his previous exploits Pardew is, surprisingly, not always the cause. The fans and the club are at civil war, all caused by the owner, Mike Ashley.
Ashley is loathed on Tyneside for his treatment of the club. Since his appointment in 2010 Pardew has been the glue that holds it all together.
Ashley won’t sack Pardew because he knows he needs him.
However, this latest incident may have more serious ramifications for Pardew than he could ever imagine ... the most important being ... he will NEVER become manager of England now (his ultimate dream).
English football does not boast many highly regarded English managers, but it is highly likely that the next England manager will be English.
There are only four other English managers currently in the Premier League and two of those aren’t expected to be there next season. If the FA want an Englishman there doesn’t seem many alternatives to Pardew.
Current England boss Roy Hodgson isn’t going anywhere soon, unless this summer’s World Cup proves to be another humiliation, but Pardew was high up on the list of eventual replacements.
He's a Yes Man, does what he's told, and he's from London town ... ticks all the boxes.
If only he wasn’t such a hot headed idiot.
But the biggest job in English sport as just been washed down the shit pan.
Saturday was his "Gerald Ratner Moment" ... one minute that ruined a career.
Let me remind you of Ratner ... he joined the family business in 1966, and built up an extremely successful chain of jewellers during the 1980s, of which he was chief executive.
The shops and their wares were extremely popular with the public, until Ratner made a speech at the Institute of Directors on 23 April 1991. During the speech, he commented:
“We also do cut-glass sherry decanters complete with six glasses on a silver-plated tray that your butler can serve you drinks on, all for £4.95."
People say, "How can you sell this for such a low price?", I say, "because it's total crap.
"Some of the earrings are cheaper than an M&S prawn sandwich but probably wouldn't last as long."
Ratner's comments showed contempt to customers, and they stayed away from Ratner shops.
After the speech, the value of the Ratner group plummeted by £500million. Ratner resigned in November 1992.
