United owner Mike Ashley pledged to “invest” this summer immeditately before the final game of last season against West Ham United.
But the club, led by managing director Lee Charnley, is yet to make a breakthrough.
Charnley will meet with the club’s new-look board, which also comprises of head coach Steve McClaren, chief scout Graham Carr and Bob Moncur to plan United’s next move.
