Kieron Dyer has admitted he feared for his eyesight after a freak training-ground accident that knocked back his plans for a good run in the first team.
The 27-year-old caught his eye on a pole during a training session just days after playing against Portsmouth in the Carling Cup, his first game after a five-month injury lay-off.
Dyer: "I thought I had lost the sight in one eye. My sight completely went. And when I looked at the doctor's face and he did not want to say how bad it was, I realised it was bad."
