Newcastle are keen to take the striker on a season-long deal.
But QPR manager Harry Redknapp has suggested the only way Remy – who has a £6.8 buy-out clause – will leave Loftus Road this summer will be on a permanent deal.
“I don’t think he will go on loan,” Redknapp told The Independent.
“I can’t see any sense in it. I don’t know why we’d pay £8m and then loan him out.
“If he was to go, someone will have to pay for him. He has a buy-out clause, and we want our money back.”
