The 26-year-old full back arrived at St James’ Park for £800,000 in February 2001 after spending a month on loan at the club, but he has failed to establish himself in the first team and has played just one minute for the first team this season. He last played a Premiership game in May 2001.
But Quinn has timed his move well and will go straight into the Blades team for the Worthington Cup semi-final clash with

"There is no chance of making the deal permanent but a month's loan will help us out enormously and suits Wayne, who will now play in four televised games in succession with us."
