Newcastle United have not had long to lick their wounds following a seventh defeat in eight matches.
Less than 48 hours since that match ended, Rafa Benitez will hold his pre-match Press conference this afternoon ahead of the Magpies’ trip to the Emirates to take on Arsenal.
Given the Magpies’ woeful form, the pressing need for an update on whether United will spend during the January transfer window, and also for information on the takeover, this promises to be an important Press conference.
He spoke of everyone taking “responsibility” for the current run of form - has there been some deep introspection on the training ground?
Straight after the defeat to Everton, Benitez stressed the need for collective responsibility for Newcastle’s current barren spell - and included himself among that.
Has he therefore spent time with his coaching staff critiquing his own performance over the last few days? And has he done likewise with the players?
Obviously we don't know what goes on in the training sessions, but despite the poor results, the players are still fighting for a cause. They were easily the better side in the first half on Wednesday. But they continue to beat themselves with silly mistakes.
Are those players good enough for the Premier League? The jury is out on that.
