United manager Rafa Benitez knew all about “clever” Vurnon Anita when he arrived at St James’s Park, because he looked at him when he Anita was playing for Ajax.
“I had my report from Vurnon when he was at Ajax,” said Benitez.
“I had him as right fullback and winger then. He is quite clever.
“He knows what he needs to do in each position.”
