Indeed, when it comes to choosing between them, the Magpies boss says he will simply approach games from a tactical perspective.
And Benitez is quoted as saying by the Shields Gazette: "You have to match (them) - it depends on the games. Papiss is doing a great job. And after, you know Mitrovic will come and be a threat too.
"I think we have to find the balance between one, the other one and sometimes even both (like) against Sunderland.
"You have to be sure both are ready and they compete between them. That is good for the team."
In the Premier League this season, Mitrovic has eight goals to his name, while Cisse has three. The latter has played far less, of course, while Ayoze Perez is sandwiched in between on six.
Perez seems to be less of a preferred option under Benitez's management.
Next up for Newcastle is a home clash against Crystal Palace, where three points would be all the sweeter against former manager Alan Pardew.
Then comes an away visit to Aston Villa, before the final game of the season at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
