Rafa Benitez was in great form on Tuesday night.
The Newcastle manager, just over 10 weeks until he manages the final game of his current three year Newcastle United contract.
Jake Humphrey on BT Sport:
“If you were talking to the Newcastle board [Mike Ashley] right now, what would be your dream for the club?”
Rafa Benitez:
“To beat West Ham on Saturday!”
Jake Humphrey:
“A great night and everyone was in fantastic voice here but we have to talk about the elephant in the room Rafa.
“Which is the fact that you may have just a handful of games left to be manager here at St James Park.
“Now only 10 games until the end of the season, so when can these fans expect some news on your future?”
Rafa Benitez:
“Before the game I said I was focused on the game.
“After the game I’m focused on the West Ham game.
“So we have to try and concentrate on that.
“Obviously I know , that this is a situation that in time we have to manage, but the main thing is to ensure if we do something, that we have a project.
“To show some ambition and to show we really want to be a top side.”
