Former Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph could resurrect his career at Newcastle United.
Delph has fallen out of favour at Man City and has only made 19 appearances at the club since the start of the 2015/2016 campaign.
He has been blighted by injury at the Etihad and struggled to to make a mark in the first-team on a regular basis.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has commented that his future will be decided in the summer, but gave nothing away about any potential move in the January transfer window.
Now Newcastle United are thought be keen to give him a fresh start and to help them cement their return to the Premier League.
West Brom are also thought to be interested in the former Aston Villa player who hasn’t played at all since August, though his season has been largely hampered with injury.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Guardiola said: “When I spoke to Fabian about that in the first part of the season I said you have to try to avoid injury.
“He has done well but now is the end part of his rehabilitation. What we are looking for is for him to be fit and to help us.
“We cannot talk about the future of the players when they are not on the pitch.
“It is for him to be fit, to see his level, then at the end of the season we are going to decide what is the best for the club, for him, for everybody.”
