Ramage Only Too Happy To Help
The 21-year-old defender, making only his fifth start for United in the victory over West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns, made Alan Shearer's goal, 12 minutes from time. And it rounded off a great week for the modest defender, after making his first appearance of the season in the Sunderland derby followed with the Carling Cup victory at Grimsby.
Ramage: "I've managed to stick one across for Al. The gaffer's been saying just push on, as Nobby likes to come inside a bit. I'm getting used to it, but I know my final delivery needs to be better.
"Looking back over the week I couldn't have asked for any more. The boss has shown faith in me by keeping me in the team. We've got three victories, and hopefully I've repaid him with my performances.
"I've been given my chance, but I know once players come back it's going to be difficult to keep my place - because they're top quality players. I've got to keep working hard, and hopefully impress the manager.
"We stood up to them, like we did on Wednesday night, and came away with the three points. It was brilliant to see Kieron come on - you can see what he brings to the side he's got so much pace it's frightening, it scares defenders to death."
