There is now a lack of striker cover at United, what with Leon Best and Peter Løvenkrands being released, and Ranger wants the chance to stay at the club.
Pardew has been let down by Ranger on more than one occasion since being appointed Toon boss in December 2010, and he said he hoped the player would take up an option elsewhere this summer.
Ranger remains on bail after an incident last summer and still has a court case hanging over his head which won’t be resolved until October at the earliest.
Ranger still has four years left on his current contract – which is a problem the club has to face.
He went on loan to Barnsley last season and was loaned out again to Sheffield Wednesday in League One where he helped the Owls to promotion.
So far there has been no bid from Sheff Wed for his services, despite the club saying they were interested.
Shola Ameobi and Sammy Ameobi will also be expected to be next in line to stand in for Cisse and Ba.
We do have Xisco, who wants to leave Newcastle after a four-year nightmare in England, but Pardew expects him to go out on loan AGAIN in Spain.
