A Rangers fan group have slammed Sports Direct tycoon Mike Ashley's treatment of the Ibrox club and have called for a boycott of all parts of his business empire.
Club 1872, who are also the second-biggest shareholder at the side managed by Steven Gerrard, have hit out at Ashley after their club lost a court case against his Sports Direct firm, meaning they could be facing a crippling compensation bill that could run into the milions.
The result could also spell an end to Rangers' merchandising deal with Hummel, meaning the Ibrox fans group are now calling for a boycott.
In a statement issued today, Club 1872 said: "We look forward to the day when he and Sports Direct no longer have any dealings with our club.
"We would urge individual supporters who are frustrated with these ongoing court battles to consider what action they can take to remove support for any and all parts of Mr Ashley’s business empire, and encourage others to do the same."
Club 1872 also confirmed that they had reached out to supporters of Mike Ashley's Newcastle United to try and come together in challenging the hold the businessman has over their respective clubs.
They said: "We would also take this opportunity to express our sympathy with Newcastle fans.
"We have made approaches to a number of their supporters’ groups to discuss ways in which we can work together to challenge Mr Ashley and Sports Direct in what we believe is a matter of shared interest".
