Remember Gary Caldwell?
The Caldwell brothers never achieved their ambitions and never played together in Newcastle United's first team. Steve made 20 appearances before joining the Mackems, but Hibernian skipper Gary never made it ont the St James' Park turf in black and white. But he is hoping victory over Dnipro on Thursday will bring a new contract with the Scottish club.
The 23-year-old has recently been linked with a transfer-window move to Celtic but he has urged the board to make him an offer.
Gary Caldwell: "I suppose getting to the UEFA Cup group stages would help me. I am contracted to Hibs until the end of May and if they want to come and offer me a contract I would love to look at it with my agent.
"Hopefully I will be able to stay here for the long run but I have just got to get on with playing games and see what happens. I would like to see a contract, so I can just get on with my football and do the best job I can. That's not in my control at the moment."
