The France international’s proposed move to Liverpool collapsed last week after Remy reportedly failed a medical and Pardew subsequently confirmed he would monitor the situation.
However, Pardew has suggested it could now be time for Newcastle to draw a line through their chances of re-signing Remy.
Remy has in his contract that he would sign for Liverpool for £8m, but any side NOT playing in the Champions League this season (including Newcastle Utd) would have to pay £15m.
Mike Ashley said "NO WAY!"
Alan Pardew: "We've not really had much contact with Loic and I don't see that evolving, if I'm honest.
"We've made it clear we'd want to have him but it hasn't really happened and therefore you sometimes have to say where is the line drawn for us as a club as we have our own respect and our own professionalism.
"Whatever happened at Liverpool is irrelevant really, because he's had plenty of chances to come to us.
“So maybe that one has gone away but like all transfers they’re never, ever over so we’ll keep our finger on the pulse.”
