Tottenham are among a group of Premier League clubs that would consider triggering Remy’s £8m escape clause if QPR are relegated, according to the Guardian.
But, despite agreeing a deal with Newcastle in the January transfer window, he snubbed the club - despite Mike Ashley laying on a private plane to get him to England.
The striker told Ashley he wanted to spend the night in London with his wife before heading to Newcastle - yet he headed straight to Loftus Road to sign for QPR!
The 26-year-old French striker has scored five goals in seven starts since joining from Marseille in January.
His late change of mind saw him switch to Loftus Road on a bumper deal which can tot up to £110,000 per week once goal and win bonuses are included in his pay packet.
And that is well out of reach for Ashley, who has a wage cap of £60,000 per week.
He signed a four-and-a-half year deal only in January – but is set to quit after less than six months with Harry Redknapp’s side.
