Results go in Newcastle’s favour on Tuesday
Relegation rivals well beaten
Following the positive performance and the point gained in Monday’s match against Manchester United, Newcastle fans will have no doubt turned their attention to the matches played by their relegation rivals on Tuesday and the results brought more positive news.
Bottom of the table Norwich City lost 3-0 at Crystal Palace. The Canaries remain a point behind Newcastle at the foot of the Premier League and have now played the same number of games. Another important result for the Toon came at Vicarage Road where after taking the lead, Watford were beaten 4-1 by West Ham United. Watford remain 4th bottom, just two points ahead of the Magpies, though they have still played two games less.
On Wednesday evening 14th-placed Brentford take on league leaders Manchester City and on Thursday Burnley, who are only ahead of Newcastle on goal difference, travel to Manchester United.
