27-year old Carr is still stalling on a new contract and it is debatable whether ex-France coach Jacques Santini can persuade him to stay.
Carr would certainly be cheaper than targets Hatem Trabelsi or Miguel, who would be available for around £6 million. The latter's asking price was doubled after he had an impressive Euro 2004. Danny Mills was also linked but is asking for £40,000 a week, which is surely too much for a player of his calibre.
I'd prefer Miguel at the right price but Carr wouldn't be bad. New faces, that's what we need. Voice your opinions on the messageboard.
