Matt Ritchie has been ruled out of Scotland's crunch World Cup qualifiers this week after picking up a knock against Liverpool.
The Newcastle United winger Matt Ritchie has been withdrawn from Gordon Strachan's squad for the upcoming, decisive group clashes with Slovakia and Slovenia.
The Scottish FA confirmed on its official Twitter account that the winger, who turned in a Man of the Match display in Newcastle’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Sunday, will not feature for his country.
The ex-Bournemouth star picked up a knock during the clash at St James’ Park and pulled himself out of the squad as a precaution.
It is reported that the 28-year-old will use the two-week break to recuperate from the injury.
